Who is putting on this school?
Our school is based in Kelowna, BC and is sponsored and hosted by the Kelowna Vineyard Church. We have a leadership team that is based out of our church however our board of advisors is made up of people from various churches in Kelowna. Our guest instructors come from a wide variety of streams of ministry and are both national and international.
What is the cost of the school?
This depends on whether you are a student who needs housing. The costs for full time (meaning all ten weeks) students who require housing and food will be $4000.00 if fees are paid in full before march 1st. After that, the fees go up to $4250.00. For those students who are local, or who can provide their own housing and food the costs will be $2800.00 before march 1st. After that the fees will be $3050.00. All fess are in Canadian funds. There will be a $25.00 per session drop in fee for those local students who want to take in just specific sessions.
Where will the housing be for out of town students?
We will be housing the students either at various billets or in a dorm living type environment depending on the number of accepted applicants.
How many hours per week is the course requiring?
If we include all lecture sessions, project time, rehearsal time and off campus activities it will be approx 40 hrs per week.
Where and when will we be recording our songs?
We are going to introduce each student to the basics of digital recording. The School will be providing access to computer based digital recording equipment on campus throughout the length of the terms and in certain modules we will be focusing on recording and producing. Students will have access to the equipment on a rotating schedule. We will also be taking a tour of a local professional recording studio and learning about how a studio for professional/commercial purposes operates.
Do I need to bring my instrument?
Yes, by all means bring your instrument. There will be many opportunities for rehearsals, jam sessions, worship times and some recording sessions.
